(Yes, pun intended)I've got to say, it's only been one (test) training ride so far on my brand new Fizik Arione seat; that said, it's the real deal in my book. Coming off a less than optimal seat in terms of performance and comfort, the Fizik's quite the rewarding buy. With its design favoring a Snake (not name-calling, btw; it's a rider's flexibility as it relates to the saddle in terms of seat design as I recently found out). Opting for 'Snake' over 'Bull' or vey flexible vs not so much... for me, it was a good choice. Overall, it's allowing me to ride comfortably in a number of aggressive, low positions while at the same time, providing a saddle top that allows for smooth, quick seating position transitions with no complaints from down under. I'm always riding with the chamois' butt (yes, that pun again) on a less than endurance ride, on this perch, even the riding shorts with chamois wouldn't be a necessity for me. That certainly was not the case with the seat it's replacing.Only time will tell how it works out in the long run but I don't run across to many purchases where I can feel okay about dropping a quick review with such a limited trial; this is one of those.-Feeling EncouragedBought this saddle for my new Trek Domane 5.2. I bought it partially for the color scheme (it matches the bike perfectly) and partly based on other reviews I read about the Fizik Arione saddle design. I had to tweak the positioning (fore/aft) and the tilt a pretty fair amount, but once I got it dialed in, I really love this saddle. I've only done 28 mile group rides up to this point but have a 50+ mile training ride this weekend which should tell me whether or not it is comfortable on long rides. What I like so far is the ability to slide up and down the saddle easily. I tend to move around a lot on the saddle, sometimes on the hoods, sometimes in the drops, sometimes in the aero bars, sometimes way back on the saddle on long grinding climbs. I find the Fizik Arione to be easy to move around on, provides good support when on the back of the saddle grinding (good support for my sit bones), and have not had any numbness in the ?delicate? areas. With the new bike's original saddle, I had some chafing, and none so far with this one.As with all saddles, fit is a very personal thing. I'll try to update this review after the long (for me) ride this weekend. The only negative is price (it's no cheap). But really, if you spend a lot of time riding, you should expect to pay a lot for a good saddle.I bought this about a week ago from Wiggle since it was on sale for half the price as it was here. I bought the last one, though, and they aren't restocking it anymore. Anyway, I came from a Charge Spoon saddle, which is quite comfortable. Problem is that I'm a pretty flexible person, and it doesn't allow me to get an aggressive enough position.Well, the Fizik Arione solved that issue almost immediately after putting it on my bike (2015 Trek Emonda S4)! To test out how comfortable it would be, I rode it around without bib shorts. It definitely passed that test with flying colors. I was able to get onto the drops and really get aero without having the feeling that my seat was going up my bum or cutting circulation to my gentlemen sausage and his kids. It was slightly padded yet firm, and it was compliant in the winged section towards the back of it. I'll break it in properly this weekend. It's well worth the price. I'm not sure how it stacks against the newer Arione VS, R5, R3, R1, or 00 models, though it's still rather light at ~225 grams. Not the lightest, but then again you start to pay high prices for such little weight loss.If you're a snake (flexible enough to bend over and touch your toes), then this is the seat for you.I've use the Fizik Arione Road saddle for more than 10 years, because it fits me perfectly. I have one installed on at least 6 different bikes (don't ask!). This particular one replaces another that finally wore out after 7 years of very frequent use. While comfort should be your number one concern, I also love the Arione because it offers a wide variety of fore and aft positions while riding, and it's very light and durable.I love this saddle. It is very comfortable. I bought a new Arione to replace my last one that got many miles use out of it.Very well constructed saddle. Was excited to try this saddle as I had never tried a Fizik before. Immediately, I was disappointed. Despite trying numerous angles and fore/aft positions, this saddle refused to be comfortable for me. There is no cutout, which resulted in severe pain and chafing in the perenium (taint) area. For those also experiencing perenium issues, definitely look for a saddle with a large cutout. This completed alleviated my issues after the first ride.Light and very narrow. I was surprised on the comfort. I put it on an older Cannondale r1000 I have at my second house. Only ride it when I am in town there. I have done a couple metric centuries on it and was very comfortable. Thinking on getting another one for my Evo.Top saddle many positions to move about on when you want to up the antiHad this saddle years back. The nylon chassis eventually broke after 7-8 years. Was trying to find an equally comfy saddle for the next several years with no luck. This seems to be the same as the original arione. Saddles fit differently for everyone, this is the one for me.Excelente comodidad.
