I would recommend these brake pads for anyone looking for more stopping power from rim brakes. I use these on my road bike and mountain bike on the rear, rain or shine and they always stop. They always stop great, never overheat, and never squeak (in my experience). The better for surface area would be the CoolStop salmon and black MTB pads (I run these on the front for better modulation going downhill). Install these according to their instructions on the packaging and you will be golden.
