Zefal 13mm White Bicycle Rim Tape Pair - Durable Rim Protection for Road & Mountain Bikes - Perfect for Cycling, Commuting & Bike Maintenance

Package contained two rolls of adhesive-backed cloth rim-tape on a cardboard card.I put this tape on two 27" steel wheels for my road bike. I used a brass brush to clean off light surface rust and pieces of the cheap old rubber rim tape that had been used previously. Then I wiped down the whole area with alcohol to provide a clean surface for the adhesive on the new rim tape to stick to.This tape is thicker than your cheapo average rubber rim strips. The cloth is quite sturdy, and the adhesive backing is not overly aggressive, but sufficient to keep it from easily moving around. There is just enough to go around a 27" wheel, I snipped off maybe an inch of extra material.Using my finger around the wheel to press the tape firmly in place, I could tell that this covered the spokes quite a bit better than the old rubber strips. This instills quite a bit more confidence in me. I'm going to be using these wheels on a daily commuter, and I'm a big guy riding on fairly junky roads, so I'm very concerned with my wheel situation.For under 8 bucks, this is a no-brainer. With shipping costs factored in, it's not that much more than all but the cheapest rubber strips.I will not only be purchasing another pair for my other road bike, but any future need as well.
